03 May 2025 10:38

A high-level delegation from the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) is currently on a working visit to Türkiye, aimed at strengthening academic ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish universities.

As part of the visit, the delegation paid an official visit to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara, where they held a meeting with Ambassador Rashad Mammadov, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

During the meeting, ASPU representatives provided a comprehensive overview of ongoing collaborations with Turkish higher education institutions. Discussions focused on the potential for expanding academic partnerships, launching joint educational initiatives, and enhancing the exchange of experience and expertise between the two countries' academic communities.

Both sides emphasized the strategic importance of educational cooperation in deepening the broader Azerbaijan–Türkiye partnership. Views were exchanged on ways to further institutionalize ties in the education sector, with a particular focus on collaborative research projects, student and faculty exchange programs, and curriculum development.

The ASPU delegation includes prominent academic leaders: Rector Professor Jafar Jafarov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Professor Mahira Huseynova, Dean of the Philological Faculty Associate Professor Konul Hasanova, Head of the Department of Modern Azerbaijani Language Associate Professor Konul Samadova, and Head of the International Relations Department Gunay Maharramova.

The discussions also addressed mechanisms for supporting joint initiatives and fostering long-term cooperation between universities in both countries. The meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment of Azerbaijan and Türkiye to deepening academic and scientific collaboration as a cornerstone of their strategic alliance.
