Azerbaijani, Uzbek media leaders convene for forum in Tashkent
Azerbaijani and Uzbek media executives, media representatives, and Uzbek officials gathered at a joint media forum in Tashkent.
During the forum entitled “In Search of Truth in the Digital Age: Combating Disinformation”, the participants will discuss media activities in the digital age, ways to combat disinformation, cooperation in this direction between media organizations of the two countries and other issues, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
After the opening of the media forum, the event will continue with sessions.
Additionally, as part of the event, representatives of Azerbaijani media will visit media structures of Uzbekistan, familiarise themselves with their activities and principles of work.
At the official opening of the forum, Executive Director of Azerbaijan's Media Development Agency Ahmad Ismayilov, addressed the audience saying, “Brotherly relations, further strengthened between our countries as a result of the strong political will of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, intensive ties that have made a serious contribution to the development of our regions, have their dynamic impact on all spheres, including the media sphere."
"The reciprocal visits of the leaders of both countries are an important historical event in terms of the development of ties and strategic partnership between the Turkic states. These visits, as well as the documents signed within the framework of the visit are a clear manifestation of friendship and brotherhood between the Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples," he noted.
“Great importance is attached to the development of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and member countries of the Organization of Turkic States both in various spheres and in the field of media, implementation of joint projects, exchange of experience. In this regard, our relations with the brotherly republic of Uzbekistan, which have been strengthened over a short period of time, are exemplary,” Ismayilov added.
