Baghdad court hands death penalty to five drug traffickers

An Iraqi court has sentenced five drug traffickers to death for possession of large quantities of narcotics, the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council said on April 15, according to its official Facebook page.

The Central Criminal Court in Baghdad ruled that the defendants were found in possession of 2.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1,100 tramadol tablets, other narcotic substances, and cash.
