Bahrain says air defences intercept 86 missiles and 148 Iranian drones
Air defence forces in Bahrain intercepted eight Iranian missiles and 19 drones on Saturday, according to a statement from the Bahrain Defence Force.
The report, cited by Bahrain News Agency, said the interceptions were carried out by the kingdom’s air defence systems as part of ongoing efforts to protect Bahraini airspace.
Military officials added that since the start of the current hostilities, Bahraini forces have intercepted and destroyed a total of 86 missiles and 148 drones that were launched toward the country.
The General Command praised the preparedness and performance of its service members, saying their actions have helped ensure the security of the kingdom’s airspace.
Authorities also issued guidance to the public, urging residents to remain indoors whenever possible, leave their homes only when absolutely necessary, avoid locations where debris from intercepted weapons may have fallen, and rely on official sources rather than circulating unverified information.
