Baku airport welcomes first flight of Greek airline PHOTO

Aegean Airlines started regular flights to Heydar Aliyev International Airport from Athens on September 30, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the press service of Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The aircraft of the Greek carrier was traditionally welcomed with a water cannon salute.

"Heydar Aliyev International Airport strives to provide quality service and comfortable conditions for all travellers, and attracting more airlines is an important part of our development strategy. We are confident that cooperation with a Greek carrier will be successful and promising for our passengers," said airport director Teymur Hasanov.

Flights between Athens and Baku will be operated twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The performance of these flights at night allows passengers to choose more convenient time slots from the airline's wide route network.

Aegean Airlines offers passengers flights to more than 80 destinations, including Cyprus, the Balkans and Western Europe, as well as Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and other famous Greek islands.
