Baku begins preparations for World Urban Forum, official says
Baku has launched preparations to host the World Urban Forum, which is scheduled to take place in the Azerbaijani capital in May next year, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture has announced.
Committee Chairman Anar Guliyev told reporters that work has already begun on organisational and logistical arrangements ahead of the global event, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to Guliyev, the forum’s logo has been designed, an official website has been launched, and participant registration is now open.
“Preparations are progressing, with special focus on both logistics and substantive discussions,” he said, adding that the traditional ministerial meeting would be held in an expanded format this time.
He also noted that, for the first time, the forum would run for five to six days, providing a platform for high-level debate and knowledge exchange on urban development and planning.
