Baku, Budapest join forces to enhance groundwater management PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Hungary have engaged in discussions regarding the mapping of groundwater resources, with a focus on collecting essential data and enhancing collaboration in the field of water management.
The issue was addressed during a meeting between Rafig Aslanov, the head of the State Control Service for Water Use and Protection under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, and a Hungarian delegation led by Ambassador Tamás Torma, Caliber.Az reports, citing the agency.
The meeting, which took place in Baku, also included Tural Abbasov, deputy chief of the service, as well as Daniel Brenner, attaché, and other representatives from Geogold Karpatia, a company involved in geological and water management projects.
The discussions primarily centered on the technical aspects of groundwater mapping, including the collection of factual data on water reserves, as well as the mapping of groundwater depth and its mineralization levels.
Additionally, comprehensive information on both surface and groundwater management was shared with the attendees, highlighting ongoing efforts and potential for future cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary in the sustainable management of water resources.
