Baku holds anti-sabotage drill at Sangachal terminal PHOTO

The State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Facilities of Azerbaijan conducted a command-and-staff exercise aimed at preventing potential sabotage at the Sangachal Terminal, one of the country’s key energy infrastructure sites.

The drill included participation from the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, and bp Caspian Sea Exploration Ltd., Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The exercise was designed to ensure timely detection and prevention of possible security threats, strengthen coordination between state and law enforcement agencies, and improve operational synchronization. It also aimed to enhance both theoretical knowledge and practical skills of personnel, boosting vigilance and readiness during duty.

Officials emphasized that such drills are a crucial part of safeguarding strategic facilities and maintaining national energy security.
