Baku Marathon 2023 wraps up PHOTO/UPDATE

The sixth Baku Marathon 2023, held on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has wrapped up.
As many as 19,500 people participated in the event, Report informs.
Along with our citizens, representatives of the United States, Germany, UAE, Great Britain, China, France, Cameroon, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Russia, Türkiye, Ukraine and Uganda took part in the marathon.
The Baku Marathon, which has been running since 2016, aims to support the development of sports as well as encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Alongside this, veterans of the Karabakh war, as well as people with physical disabilities, took part in the competition. It should be noted that the first start of the marathon was for the aforementioned individuals. From the second start, the remaining participants joined the event.
The event was remembered for a number of innovations. Medals were given to the first 2,000 competitors to reach the finish line.
In the men's and women's categories, the winner was awarded prizes and gifts worth 3,000 manats ($1,765), 2nd place winners 2,000 manats ($1,177), 3rd place winners 1,000 manats ($588), as well as medals and certificates.

It is held under the slogan "Win the wind" to support the development of sports, promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The marathon was organised with the support of the Science and Education Ministry, the Digital Development and Transport Ministry, the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency, SOCAR, Azerlottery OJSC, the Seaside Boulevard Department and the Regional Development Public Association.
