Baku, Tbilisi cooperate for regional stability, says former Georgian top official
The former head of the Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze has noted the importance of close relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia and spoken in favour of strengthening regional organizations.
Baku and Tbilisi are in close cooperation, it is important not only for the two countries but also for stability in the region, Burjanadze said during a panel session at the X Global Baku Forum, per Vestnik Kavkaza.
In her opinion, there is a need to strengthen regional organizations due to the insufficient importance of the UN. She believes that it is necessary to search for new effective mechanisms, use multilateral cooperation, and to resort to regional organizations' assistance.
In order to solve the problems faced by countries, it is necessary to strengthen regional organizations, the politician said.
The theme of the anniversary forum, which started in Baku today, is "The World of Today: Challenges and Hopes". The event will last until March 11.
