Barça set to buy Koulibaly from Napoli this summer

Barcelona are set to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to Express, the management of the Catalan club decided to start work on the transfer of a 30-year-old football player who really wants to be at Barça and is waiting for the blue garnets to agree with Napoli on the transfer.

Barça are currently looking to strengthen their attack, midfield and flank, but Xavi has made it clear to management that the team needs a left-footed centre-back with international experience.

Barça knows the deal won't be easy as negotiations with Napoli are very difficult, but Koulibaly's contract with the club runs until the summer of 2023, putting the Italian club at a disadvantage. The Senegalese does not intend to renew cooperation with Napoli.

If earlier the Italian club demanded more than 65 million euros for Kalida and refused Manchester City and PSG, now they will probably agree to release the player for about half of the indicated amount, and Barça sees a good transfer opportunity in this situation.
