Azerbaijan’s border cavalry triumphs in polo at Royal Windsor Horse Show in UK Photo / Video
The traditional annual event honouring the British royal family — the Royal Windsor Horse Show — has successfully concluded in the United Kingdom with notable participation from Azerbaijan.
According to the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the organisation of the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, the cavalry unit of the State Border Service once again proudly represented Azerbaijan at the Windsor Horse Show, Caliber.Az reports.
During the event, the Azerbaijan pavilion showcased valuable artworks reflecting the country’s rich culture. A work by the renowned artist Elnur Mahmudov was presented as a gift to King Charles III, while a handmade carpet by artist Aygun Nagieva was presented to the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward.
The highlight of the event was a thrilling victory by the polo team Land of Fire – Azerbaijan, who defeated the Guards team representing British Windsor with a close score of 12-10.
To conclude the event, Reto Gaudenzi, President of the World Polo Federation, and Elchin Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, congratulated the Land of Fire – Azerbaijan team on their success.
