Barge collides with ferry in Hamburg leaving 11 injured
A barge collided with a ferry in the port of Hamburg, Germany, leaving 11 people injured.
The incident occurred on the Norderelbe River, where the ferry sustained significant damage during the collision. At the time of the crash, there were 25 people aboard the ferry, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Emergency medical teams were quick to arrive at the scene, providing assistance to the injured passengers. Several victims were transported to the nearest hospital for treatment, with one person reported to have sustained serious injuries.
Over 50 emergency responders, including police and paramedics, were dispatched to the site of the collision. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
This accident marks another concerning event in the busy Hamburg port, highlighting the need for ongoing safety measures on the waterway.
