Bayern Munich, Barcelona to face off in 2nd week of Champions League
The second matchday of the Champions League will kick off on Tuesday, with Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona match in Group C being one of the highly anticipated contests of the week.
The match starts at 1900GMT at Bayern Munich's home ground, the Allianz Arena, Anadolu Agency reports.
Both teams won their opening Champions League games. The Bavarians claimed a 2-0 away win while Barcelona hammered Viktoria Plzen 5-1 to top the group on matchday one.
Bayern Munich is unbeaten in the Bundesliga so far this season, winning three games and drawing three of six first games.
Barca lies second in the La Lia table having won four and drawing one of their first five clashes.
The Bavarians will be playing without key players Kingsley Coman and Bouna Sarr due to injuries.
Former Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will be Barcelona's trump card.
In the opening Champions League game against Viktoria Plzen, Lewandowski became the first player to score a Champions League hat trick with three different sides – Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.
Danny Makkelie from the Netherlands will officiate the match.
