Beijing advises nationals to evacuate Iran

The government of China has advised its citizens to avoid travelling to Iran and urged those currently in the country to leave as soon as possible, citing rising regional tensions and increasing security risks.

The recommendation was reported on Friday, February 27, by the state news agency Xinhua. According to the report, China’s Foreign Ministry, together with the Chinese Embassy in Iran, called on Chinese nationals to exercise heightened caution and depart while commercial flights remain available.

Officials stressed that the advisory was issued in response to the deteriorating security environment and encouraged citizens to take necessary precautions and closely monitor developments.
