Beijing reaffirms "iron friendship" with Belarus during high-level talks
Chinese President Xi Jinping said relations between China and Belarus have reached a "historic peak," describing the two countries as "iron friends" during a working meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Beijing.
Welcoming Lukashenko, Xi highlighted the close and frequent dialogue between the two leaders, BelTA reports.
"I am very pleased to welcome you again, my dear friend. I am very glad to see you. We meet often, we speak often, and we have timely, in-depth dialogue on a wide range of issues," Xi said.
He noted that Beijing and Minsk continue to deepen their all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.
"China and Belarus are iron friends. Our relations have withstood every test of international turbulence, and our friendship only grows stronger. Our cooperation is multifaceted, keeps pace with the times, and constantly produces new results. Belarus–China relations are experiencing a historic peak," Xi said.
