Belarus claims to have intercepted Ukrainian "spy" drone

Belarusian border guards have intercepted a Ukrainian drone in the Gomel region, which was used for reconnaissance of the republic's territory, the State Border Committee of Belarus said.

"The border guard, performing tasks to protect the border on the Dnieper River, detected an unmanned aerial vehicle, which illegally crossed the border from the territory of Ukraine. The drone was used for reconnaissance of the border territory of the Republic of Belarus," reads the message, according to TASS.

The Border Committee reported that during the incident, which occurred on July 16 in Brahynski district, the quadrocopter was forcibly landed on the water as a result of the use of a radio-electronic gun by the Belarusian border guards.
