Belarus’ Lukashenko may attend 2026 Board of Peace meeting
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko may participate in this year’s Board of Peace meeting if it is acceptable to the Belarusian side, the president’s press secretary, Natalia Eismont, told TASS.
Earlier, Lukashenko had promised the United States that he would attend the upcoming Board of Peace session, but was unable to join the first meeting on February 19 in Washington due to a sudden readiness check of Belarus’ armed forces.
In March, during a visit by a U.S. delegation to Minsk, Lukashenko received an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to hold a high-level meeting in Florida. U.S. President’s special envoy John Cole noted that the invitation for Lukashenko has been under discussion within the U.S. administration for several months.
