Belarus makes travel easier with new electronic visa
The Foreign Ministry of Belarus has announced that starting March 20, foreign nationals will be able to enter Belarus using an electronic visa.
This new policy will simplify entry requirements for citizens from 67 countries, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The ministry confirmed that the electronic visa option will be available to holders of regular passports from a range of countries, including the US, Canada, EU member states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK and others.
The electronic visas will be single-entry and individually issued, with each visa allowing a stay of up to 30 days. The process will be automated, making it more convenient for travelers to gain access to Belarus without the need for traditional visa applications.
Depending on the purpose of the trip, the following categories of electronic visas are available: business travel, participation in sports, cultural, scientific, and educational events and internships, private matters, and tourism.
Electronic visas are issued automatically, without the need to visit Belarusian diplomatic missions or provide supporting visa documents. The consular fee for the electronic visa is the same as for the traditional visa sticker. In addition to the consular fee, a service fee of 6 euros must also be paid.
The foreign ministry also emphasised that all previously established visa-free regimes remain in effect.
