Belarus president signals openness to talks with Ukrainian counterpart

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has said he is ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at any location in Belarus or Ukraine, should there be a need to discuss any issues.

He made the remarks while stressing that Belarus does not intend to become involved in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, BELTA reports.

“If we are drawn into a war, including if it is against Ukraine, it will only be in one case — if they commit aggression against us. We do not intend to get involved in the war in Ukraine. There is no need for that, neither civil nor military,” Lukashenko said.
