Belarus to close embassy in Finland from September 1

Belarus will close its embassy in Finland effective September 1, 2026, under a decision signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.

“To close the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Finland effective September 1, 2026," the government decree states, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 

The decision also repeals a 2011 decree that established the Belarusian embassy in Helsinki.

The government did not provide further details on the reasons for the closure.
