Belarus to participate in OSCE PA winter meeting in Vienna
A delegation from the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus will attend the 25th Winter Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) in Vienna, Austria, on February 19–20.
The delegation will be led by Sergey Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives, BelTA has learned from the House of Representatives’ press service.
The Belarusian delegation is scheduled to take part in meetings of the OSCE PA Standing Committee, the three General Committees — on Political Affairs and Security; Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment; and on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions — as well as in joint sessions.
Delegates will discuss key issues, including the strengthening of regional peace through comprehensive security measures, coordinated OSCE responses to economic and environmental challenges, and the protection of electoral integrity in the face of hybrid threats and foreign interference.
Belarusian representatives are expected to deliver speeches on the principal items of the meeting’s agenda and hold bilateral discussions with parliamentarians from other OSCE participating states.
The delegation will also include Oleg Rummo, member of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, who serves on the Belarusian OSCE PA delegation.
