Belarusian president replaces chief of general staff

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has replaced the country’s Chief of the General Staff, appointing Pavel Muraveiko as deputy head of the Presidential Administration.

Muraveiko previously served as Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister, Caliber.Az reports, citing Belarusian media.

Lukashenko also appointed Vladimir Bely as Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister.

Bely previously served as deputy head of the Defence Ministry.
