Belgium's largest port threatened by Red Sea situation
16 January 2024 12:34
The management of the port of Antwerp, the largest port of Belgium and one of the key ports of Northern Europe, does not exclude disruptions in work due to the dangerous situation in the Red Sea.
"To date, there are no serious consequences. Shipping companies report delays of 7 to 10 days. The number of vessel calls remains the same. Container ships were most affected, while other categories of vessels were affected to a lesser extent," the port authority said, Gazeta.ru reports.
One of the main reasons for the failure is a serious disruption of the schedule of vessel arrivals. Due to the disruptions in the schedule, the efficiency of the terminals falls.
