Belgium signals readiness to contribute troops to post-war peacekeeping in Ukraine
Belgium has indicated it is prepared to send troops to Ukraine as part of an international peacekeeping mission once the conflict with Russia ends, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot said.
Prévot made the announcement during a press conference in Odessa following a meeting with his counterparts from the Benelux countries, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
He explained that Belgium would be ready to participate in international forces if a ceasefire is agreed upon and an appropriate international mandate is established.
Prévot added that he would consult with the Belgian government and the Defence Minister to determine the nature of the military contribution Belgium could provide, stressing that the country is prepared to join peacekeeping operations when necessary.
