Belgrade to name street Tashkent during Uzbek president’s Serbia visit

A street in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, will be named Tashkent as part of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Serbia, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two countries.

Mirziyoyev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said the decision reflects the dynamic development of bilateral relations, which have been elevated to the level of a strategic partnership, Uzbek media reports. 

The leaders said the new Tashkent Street would serve as a visible symbol of the two countries’ commitment to strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation between their peoples.
