Besides Leopard, Poland ready to send Ukraine 60 more modernized tanks
Poland plans to transfer to Ukraine not only German Leopard tanks but also additional 60 upgraded tanks, including the PT-91.
The remarks came from Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with the Canadian television channel CTV News.
“First, we are trying to lead by example. Poland was the first to send 250 tanks six months ago, or even more. Now we are ready to send 60 of our upgraded tanks, 30 of which are RT-91s. And besides these, 14 tanks, Leopard 2 tanks, of which we own,” Morawiecki said.
He added that Poland has a leading position in the issue of supplying tanks to Ukraine and was one of the first to announce this initiative. At the same time, he said that modern tanks are especially important for the Ukrainian troops since Russia has in its stock nearly 15 thousand units of this equipment.
The Polish prime minister urged partners to be open and persistent in their support for Ukraine.
