Bild: Bundeswehr unable to meet NATO commitments

Commander of the German ground forces, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais has said that the German army will be unable to fulfill NATO obligations until 2025 due to a shortage of personnel and military equipment.

“Despite all efforts, the military will not be ready until 2025,” Mais told the General Staff of the German Armed Forces by sending a 14-page report, according to Bild.

He said that even if all the reserves of the German Armed Forces are used now, the country will not have all the necessary systems by 2025.
