Bishkek asks Washington to simplify visa procedures
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has urged the United States to consider easing visa requirements for Kyrgyz citizens seeking to travel to the country.
Japarov raised the issue during a meeting with Sergio Gor, the US Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Kyrgyz presidential press service reports.
“President Sadyr Japarov emphasized the need to simplify visa requirements for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic wishing to visit the United States. In particular, the discussion focused on the possibility of finding practical solutions to simplify visa procedures for Kyrgyz citizens, including the requirement to pay a visa bond and the possibility of reviewing the relevant restrictions,” the press service said.
The Kyrgyz president specifically highlighted the need to find practical solutions to streamline visa procedures, including reconsideration of the requirement for applicants to provide a visa bond.
