Bishkek talks focus on military cooperation and regional security within CSTO
On November 27, Bishkek hosted a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), the Council of Defence Ministers (CDM), and the Committee of Security Council Secretaries (CSCS) of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), chaired by the Kyrgyz side.
The session was attended by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and CSTO Joint Staff Chief Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov.
According to the CSTO’s official website, Secretary General Tasmagambetov briefed participants on the military-political situation within the Organisation’s area of responsibility and reported on the Secretariat’s activities during the intersessional period.
Key topics of discussion included the implementation of the CSTO’s Anti-Narcotics Strategy, enhancing military cooperation among member states, and developing the Organisation’s analytical capabilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants proposed the agenda for the upcoming session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
