Blinken criticizes Israeli military campaign in Gaza over high number of casualties

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has directly criticized the Israeli military campaign against Hamas militants, saying more needs to be done to protect civilians.

“Too many Palestinians have been killed, too many have suffered in recent weeks. We want to do everything we can to prevent them from harm and increase the care they receive,” Bloomberg reports, citing Blinken.

US administration officials are said to be increasing pressure on Israel over its military campaign in the Gaza Strip against Hamas. The state secretary noted that much more needs to be done both to protect civilians and provide them with humanitarian assistance.
