Bloomberg: Türkiye signs multi-billion dollar deals with US
Türkiye has concluded two major agreements with the United States, with a combined value exceeding $80 billion, Bloomberg reports.
In the aviation sector, Ankara reached a multibillion-dollar deal with Boeing for the supply of more than 200 passenger aircraft.
In energy, Türkiye signed a 20-year contract worth $43 billion for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US. The agreement envisages annual deliveries of 4 billion cubic metres of LNG, starting in 2026.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited the White House to strengthen bilateral relations and finalise the agreements. According to Turkish officials, Boeing and Lockheed Martin could receive orders for up to 250 commercial aircraft and additional F-16 fighter jets.
While the full details of the agreements have not yet been disclosed, analysts expect them to have a significant impact on the aviation and energy industries of both countries.
