Bloomberg: Ukraine to begin technical testing of Druzhba oil pipeline

Ukraine is preparing to resume oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline, with technical testing set to begin on April 21.

The potential restart of the pipeline is linked to efforts to accelerate the release of a €90 billion European loan that had previously been blocked by Hungary, Bloomberg reports.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had demanded the resumption of Russian oil supplies in exchange for unfreezing the credit.

On April 19, Orbán announced on X that an agreement had been reached on new energy supplies via the petroleum transport system.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously stated that repairs to the oil pipeline would be completed by the end of April.
