Blue Origin rocket explodes during ground test in United States VIDEO
A rocket developed by U.S. space company Blue Origin exploded on a launch pad during a ground-based fire test in the United States.
The company confirmed the incident, describing it as an “anomaly” that occurred during a scheduled hot-fire test. Blue Origin stated that all personnel were safe and accounted for at the time of the incident.
“We experienced an anomaly during today's hotfire test. All personnel have been accounted for. We will provide updates as we learn more,” the company said in a statement.
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and owner of Blue Origin, also commented on the incident, stressing that no injuries were reported.
“All personnel are accounted for and safe. It’s too early to know the root cause but we’re already working to find it. Very rough day, but we’ll rebuild whatever needs rebuilding and get back to flying. It’s worth it,” Bezos said.
