Boat overturns near Statue of Liberty in New York, killing two

A boat overturned near Liberty Island in New York, where the Statue of Liberty is located, killing two people and injuring 12 others, according to sources.

The incident occurred on the night of August 8. The fatalities were a 27-year-old woman and a five-month-old girl. They were taken to a hospital in Brooklyn, where doctors pronounced them dead, Caliber.Az reports, citing ABC News.

Those injured in the incident sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized. No information has yet been provided on the cause of the incident.
