Bodies of two Azerbaijani seamen returned after Sea of Azov drone attack
The bodies of two Azerbaijani sailors killed in a drone attack on cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov on June 5 have been repatriated to Azerbaijan.
The victims, identified as Gismat Aliyev (born 1969) and Fuad Orujov (born 1981), were killed on June 5 during an attack on two cargo ships, the Natra and the Zirkon, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The remains were transported to Azerbaijan via the Yalama border crossing point. The bodies are expected to be handed over to their families for burial on June 10.
The incident occurred when the two vessels came under drone attack in the Sea of Azov, resulting in the deaths of four Azerbaijani nationals and injuries to four others.
The 19 surviving Azerbaijani crew members were returned to the country the previous evening.
