Body of drowned girl found in Kur River in Azerbaijan
The body of a 14-year-old girl, who drowned in the Kur River nine days ago, has been recovered in the Kurdamir district of Azerbaijan.
The tragic incident occurred on December 24, when Saray Karimli, born in 2011, drowned in the Kur River in the Zardab district. Search teams have been working tirelessly since the accident, and her body was found approximately 15-16 kilometers away from the site of the drowning, near the village of Soyudlu in the Kurdamir district, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The body was retrieved from the water by members of the Aran Regional Diving and Rescue Group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES). The remains were subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities for further examination and identification.
Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the girl's tragic death.
