Bomb threat letters spark security alerts across German schools
Several schools across multiple German federal states received letters containing bomb threats on the morning of May 23, prompting heightened security and police investigations.
The threatening letters were sent to educational institutions in Bavaria, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia. The city of Essen reported at least four schools as recipients of such letters, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Despite the alarming nature of the threats, authorities confirmed that classes continued as scheduled, with no interruptions to the regular academic timetable. Police have stated that, to date, no evidence of explosive devices has been found. Security searches conducted at several schools yielded no dangerous materials or devices.
