Borrel, Guterres to discuss ways to resume grain deal

European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Josep Borrel plans to discuss ways of resuming the grain deal with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

The relevant meeting will be held in New York, the diplomat wrote in his weekly blog, Gazeta.ru reports.

He recalled that the Black Sea initiative was suspended in July 2023. The decision was made at the initiative of the Russian government, Borrel clarified.

"We will discuss with UN Secretary-General Guterres [in New York] ways and means of reviving it," the head of EU diplomacy added.
