BRICS not invites France’s Macron to August summit

French President Emmanuel Macron has not been invited to the BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa).

“In this regard, no invitation has been issued,” , Gazeta.ru reports, citing South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor.

In July, News24 reported that Macron, who had previously asked the South African authorities to host him at the BRICS summit in August, had not received an invitation to the event.

On June 20, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna confirmed that the French leader would like to receive an invitation to the next BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit scheduled for August 22-24 in Johannesburg.
