Britain trains the first Ukrainian pilots on the F-16
The first group of six Ukrainian pilots to fly American F-16 fighters has been trained in Britain, according to the British Ministry of Defence.
“I am proud of the support the Royal Air Force is providing to the next generation of Ukraine’s combat air pilots and ground crew, who will be the first line of defence in protecting Ukraine’s skies,” British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said in the final release, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the head of the British military department, Ukrainian pilots were trained in aviation medicine and English with an emphasis on professional vocabulary. In addition, the British trained Ukrainian aircraft technicians who will service the aircraft.
Prior to this, the speaker of the Air Force (AF) of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, called not to wait for deliveries of F-16 fighters until the end of 2023.
