British PM discusses post-Iran strikes situation with Saudi crown prince
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud following Iranian strikes on the kingdom and its partners, according to a statement on the UK Government website.
During the conversation, Starmer said the UK is sending additional fighter jets, helicopters, and a destroyer to the region and is ready to support Saudi Arabia’s defence if necessary.
The leaders also discussed expanding intelligence cooperation to support defensive operations and protect civilians.
Energy resilience was another key topic, with the Crown Prince outlining measures taken by the kingdom to increase global oil supplies and maintain market stability.
Both sides agreed to maintain close contact in the coming days and weeks.
