British, US surveillance jets tracked in Black Sea airspace
British and US strategic reconnaissance aircraft have been observed operating over the Black Sea, according to flight-tracking data cited by TASS.
The aircraft involved include a British Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint and a US Bombardier Challenger 650 Artemis, with their movements tracked via the Flightradar service.
The UK reconnaissance aircraft departed from RAF Waddington at 12:36 Moscow time. It proceeded across the airspace of the Netherlands, Germany, and other Central European countries before flying along the Romanian coastline of the Black Sea.
Meanwhile, the US Challenger 650 Artemis took off earlier, at 08:45 Moscow time, from an airbase near Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base in southeastern Romania. The aircraft flew toward the Turkish–Georgian border and subsequently conducted multiple manoeuvres over the Black Sea.
As of 16:05 Moscow time, both reconnaissance aircraft remained in Black Sea airspace.
