Bulgaria delivers Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine
Bulgaria has sent eight packages of military assistance to Ukraine, which included various equipment, weapons, and ammunition.
“All deliveries are carried out strictly in accordance with the decision of the parliament and consist of weapons, equipment, and ammunition that are surplus to the requirements of the Bulgarian army,” Bulgaria's caretaker Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov said during the briefing, Caliber.Az informs citing the Russian media.
However, he did not disclose the exact number of howitzers sent.
In line with the decision of the Members of Parliament, Bulgaria has previously supplied Ukraine with ammunition, uniforms, medical aid supplies, and light weaponry.
The exact details of these shipments remain classified. All the delivered equipment is subject to substantial compensation payments, which will be used for the needs of the Bulgarian army.
Gvozdika is a 122 mm self-propelled howitzer that was adopted by the Army in 1970, it was also supplied to the armed forces of the Warsaw Pact countries.
