Bulgaria takes over Rosenets oil terminal from Russian Lukoil
The Bulgarian authorities have assumed operational control over the Rosenets oil terminal. Earlier it was leased from Russia's Lukoil, Bulgarian Transport and Communications Minister George Gvozdeikov said.
"The state has assumed full control over the Rosenets terminal," the minister said, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to bTV.
According to him, Bulgaria has all possibilities to manage the terminal and will not allow emergency situations.
Gvozdeikov explained that Bulgaria does not intend to pay compensation to Lukoil because of the termination of the concession.
"The concession agreement has been terminated due to force majeure circumstances related to the restrictions previously imposed on the Russian Federation, so Lukoil can insist on its rights anywhere but in Bulgaria," the minister said.
