Along with the AKINCI UAVs, Burkina Faso has also received Turkish-made guided munitions such as TEBER, HGK, MAM-T and MAM-L, fortifying their military capabilities. Burkina Faso had previously purchased Bayraktar TB2 UAVs, which have proven to be highly effective.
Sadly, Burkina Faso has been facing a grave issue of terrorist attacks, resulting in the tragic loss of thousands of innocent lives every year. The Sahel region has been particularly affected, and the Global Terrorism Index 2022 reports that 48 per cent of the world's terrorist attacks occur in this area.
Haluk Bayraktar, the CEO of BAYKAR, voiced his appreciation for the efforts of Burkina Faso in securing their nation and protecting their people. He said that many African countries, including Burkina Faso, have taken decisive measures to strengthen their defence mechanisms by acquiring Bayraktar TB2 and AKINCI UAVs to protect their citizens and prevent any further disintegration. Bayraktar added that as states continue to strengthen their defence, innocent people can now look forward to a safer future with greater confidence.
