Bus crash in Mexico’s Michoacán leaves 10 dead, 26 injured
A traffic accident involving a tourist bus in the Mexican state of Michoacán has left 10 people dead, per Red Michoacan.
“According to preliminary information, 26 people were injured in the incident, six of them in serious condition, and at least 10 have died,” the outlet said.
According to the report, the bus was travelling from the city of Uruapan to Tlalpujahua when it overturned at the 23rd kilometre of the Morelia–Pátzcuaro highway. Emergency services and medical teams immediately arrived at the scene and began evacuating the injured to nearby hospitals.
Traffic on the affected section of the road has been temporarily closed, and authorities are advising drivers to use alternative routes. The state prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
