Bus crash in Mexico’s Veracruz kills at least ten, injures dozens PHOTO
At least ten people, including a child, have died and 32 others have been injured after a bus accident in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz, local authorities have confirmed.
The crash occurred in the town of Zontecomatlán, as the vehicle was travelling from Mexico City to the village of Chicontepec, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“Currently, we are counting nine adults and one child among the deceased,” the Zontecomatlán municipal government said in a statement. The local authorities also released a list of the injured and the hospitals where they are being treated.
Road accidents involving buses and freight trucks are common in Mexico, often caused by speeding or mechanical failures.
In late November, a similar crash in the western state of Michoacán killed ten people and injured 20 others.
