Business Insider: Slovakia to send Ukraine 30 T-72 tanks

Germany, as part of a round-robin exchange, will supply Slovakia with 15 modern Leopard 2 tanks to replace 30 T-72 tanks, which Bratislava will transfer to Ukraine.

The exchange was supposed to take place two months ago, Business Insider reports with reference to sources in government circles.

However, the Slovak Defence Ministry rejected the German proposal, saying that 15 tanks would not be enough to ensure the country's defence.

It is reported that an official statement about the exchange will be made this week. The first Leopard 2 will head to Slovakia this year.
