Caliber.Az receives prestigious honour at General Prosecutor's Office award ceremony PHOTO

On February 19, a remarkable event unfolded at the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan, where a special ceremony was held to honour those who have shown outstanding contributions to the country’s legal landscape.

The ceremony, led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, celebrated exceptional individuals in categories like “Best Prosecutor of the Year,” “Best State Prosecutor of the Year,” and “Best Investigator of the Year.”

But it wasn’t just legal professionals who were recognized — media representatives who have consistently supported the work of the Prosecutor's Office were also celebrated.

Prosecutor General Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s remarkable achievements in 2024, particularly under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, with notable progress in reclaiming lands and advancing the nation’s development.

Amid speeches from First Deputy Prosecutor General Elchin Mammadov and other key figures such as Elmar Jamalov and Heydar Mammadov, the spotlight shifted to the award recipients.

The coveted "Friend of Prosecutor's Office" award went to none other than Timur Huseynov, the editor-in-chief of Caliber.Az.

Alongside him, Vugar Khalilov, the general director of CBC TV and Radio Company, and Bakhtiyar Azizli, head of the socio-political department of "Azerbaijan" newspaper, were also recognized for their exemplary journalistic coverage, which provided timely and in-depth reporting on the Prosecutor’s Office.

Additionally, Kenan Nazarov was named "Best Investigator of the Year," Anar Alakbarov took home the title of "Best Public Prosecutor of the Year," and Elena Gasimova was awarded "Best Prosecutor," each earning a well-deserved diploma for their outstanding dedication and service.

It was an evening where the pursuit of justice and the role of media in fostering transparency were honoured, highlighting the vital link between the justice system and the public.
